Non-offensive truth?

February 18, 2018

God’s speaking yes, Bible no...

Today many Christians are disassociating themselves from the Bible, the foundation of our faith. The fear of being called politically incorrect, intolerant and unloving is greater than the reverence for the Word of God, we fear men more than God. What’s even worse is, that we are not hiding away what we believe to be true, but more and more Christians are doubting the correctness and modernity of the Bible and are willingly accepting new interpretations and explanations of biblical doctrine. The meaning of well understood Bible truths are rearranged to fit our postmodern society and to be non offensive.

And to rationalize this we point out the ‘love of God’: God’s love wouldn’t send anybody to hell, God’s love wouldn’t judge good people who don’t believe in Him, or?

To be salt and light in this world we cannot call darkness good, we cannot call saved what is lost, we cannot tolerate what God clearly judges.

But if the devil can make us doubt the Word then there is no guiding line anymore, no anchor that keeps the ship steady, no harbor where we will be save.

The moment we undermine the validity of God’s Word, we are hopelessly lost.

When we cannot stand on this sure foundation anymore, when everything is questioned and debated, then our believe develops into a mess.

The consequences can be clearly seen in Christianity today.

Masses of Christians - some who even started well, are dragged into the mud of false teachings and philosophies which are based on feelings, humanism and uniformity.

Scripture is profitable for learning to live in

conformity with God‘s will

The purpose of the Word

The Word of God is given for a specific purpose:

“All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]”

2 Timothy 3:16

Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Word of God is the only thing that helps us to lead a godly, sanctified, spiritual life.

And yes, it will separate us from the world because it is tells things that are contrary to the world’s system and it’s understanding of love. We have to be separated for a reason.

And the reason is, that we are not and should not be part of this fallen world that is ruled by the devil.

Which side are you on?

Since our spiritual life and therefore our physical life depends on it, there shouldn’t be anything more important than to study and know God’s Word.

The Prayer of David  in Psalm 119 Verse 66 is rarely heard in churches:

“Teach me good judgement (discernment) and knowledge,

for I have believed and trusted and relied on Your commandments”.

God’s commandments (His Word) will enable us to discern and judge this world system, that we can protect ourselves and shine as light to warn others from dangers and show the way to salvation.

By adapting to the world, the reinterpreting and diluting the Word of God, we added a dimmer function to our light, let’s shine as less bright as possible!

Don’t you see that a war is raging against the authenticity of the Word of God and that Christians by the thousands are willingly choosing the wrong side?

We are placing ourselves in the trenches of the enemy, fighting for him!

Which side are you on and why?
